The justices of the Supreme Court and their work

सर्वोच्च अदालतका न्यायाधीशहरू र उहाँहरूको कार्यसम्पादन

Who each of the 17 sitting justices is, how long they have served, and how many cases their benches have decided and how quickly. All figures come from the Supreme Court's own records.

Almost every case in the Supreme Court is heard by a bench (इजलास) of two or more justices. The figures for each justice therefore describe the benches on which the justice sat, not the work of that justice alone.

Time to decision is the number of days from a case's registration at the Supreme Court to its judgment or final order. The median is the middle value: half of the cases decided took less time, and half took more. The middle half leaves out the quarter of cases decided fastest and the quarter decided most slowly.

Nepali fiscal years, from mid-July to mid-July. The court's records for 2082/83 contain 35% fewer hearings than those for 2081/82, so part of the fall in that year may reflect incomplete records rather than fewer decisions.
